For me, there is nothing more stimulating, nor more beneficial to my writing, than travel. After three weeks soaking in the sounds, smells and spirit of the United States, I can honestly say I'm more energised about being alive than ever. I want to work as hard as I can, write as much as I can, excel at my sport and be mindful of my surroundings. I have much to thank for this outlook.
The places I have been
and the things that I have seen
but now I have returned home re-energised and grounded, inspired and amazed, I know what will truly stick with me.
'He aha te mea nui o te ao?'
'What is the most important thing in the world?'
'He tangata, he tangata, he tangata'
'It is people, it is people, it is people'

I really like this post.
This is beautiful. Really. It makes me a little bit giddy.. (Partly because I'm off an aeroplane to America at the end of the week too.)
Thanks Almie! And where are you off to Amber? If you're heading anywhere near LA, can you bring me back something? It's about six feet tall with brown skin, spectacles and roller skates?
